More Than a Traditional Arctic Tour
Most winter experiences in Kiruna focus on speed, activity or chasing the Northern Lights.
Arctic Silence Experience is different. Instead of rushing between locations, this experience focuses on slowing down, listening to the natural environment and experiencing the Arctic through stillness, darkness and quiet movement.
For many travelers, the silence itself becomes the most memorable part of the evening. While the Northern Lights often dominate travel planning in Kiruna, guests frequently describe the stillness, darkness and atmosphere of the Arctic landscape as the true highlight of the experience.
It is an opportunity to step away from busy schedules, constant notifications and crowded attractions, and reconnect with nature in one of Europe’s last great wilderness regions.
Why Arctic Silence Feels Different in Swedish Lapland
In winter, fresh snow absorbs sound and large Arctic landscapes create an unusual sense of stillness. Away from roads and city noise, many visitors notice sounds they normally never hear — footsteps in snow, frozen trees moving in the wind and the subtle sounds of the surrounding wilderness.
For travelers arriving from busy cities, the contrast can feel surprisingly powerful. Many guests describe Arctic silence as one of the most unexpected and memorable parts of their visit to Swedish Lapland.

Stargazing & Northern Lights Opportunities
This experience is designed around the Arctic night itself rather than chasing the aurora. The forest location offers minimal light pollution, creating excellent conditions for stargazing and enjoying the vast northern sky.
When conditions are favorable, the Northern Lights may appear above the forest. Even without aurora activity, the stars, moonlight and Arctic darkness create an unforgettable atmosphere that many visitors consider equally magical.
- Excellent stargazing opportunities
- Northern Lights viewing opportunities
- Dark-sky location away from city lights
- Ideal conditions for night photography
A Different Side of Arctic Lapland
Many evening tours focus entirely on finding the Northern Lights. This experience focuses on something equally special: slowing down and experiencing the Arctic through silence, darkness, firelight and nature.
Limited to a maximum of 8 guests, Arctic Silence Experience offers a more personal and peaceful alternative to larger Northern Lights tours. If the aurora appears, you are already in the perfect place to enjoy it. If not, the evening remains a memorable Arctic experience in its own right.
Winter Conditions
Guests spend time outdoors in Arctic winter conditions. Temperatures can vary significantly throughout the season, and proper winter clothing is essential for a comfortable experience.
